What is Donor Drive?

Donor Drive is essentially Facebook for fundraising. Through Donor Drive you will create an account for people to donate to that will go towards our final amount. Here you will also set your goal, pick your team (if you choose), and keep track of your progress.

Picking a Team

Most fraternities, sororities, and organizations probably already have a team that has been made. If there isn’t one made go ahead and make it! If you aren’t in a fraternity, sorority, or organization and want to make one for your group of friends, or even just you and your best friend, go ahead and make it! Just remember to be creative and clever with your team name! Now, a question that everyone asks is, “Can I be on two teams?” and unfortunately, the answer is no. We know that might seem like a bummer if you’re in something like UPC and BBFD and want to be on both teams. The good news is, you DON’T have to dance with your team. Teams help build morale when it comes to fundraising as you can set a team goal. You will learn to continuously build each other up to continue fundraising.


Setting a Goal

It’s okay to start off small with an amount like $100. We know what you’re thinking, “$100?! They must be crazy!”, but we promise the money comes flowing in much easier than you think. Persistence is key. Now, what happens if you reach your goal? Well, the gratification that you accomplished something great and helped people that need you more than ever. So… what now? WHAT NOW?? YOU RAISE THAT GOAL AND AIM HIGHER! Once people see that you have reached your goal they feel like they shouldn’t have to donate to you anymore. If you started at $100 and reached it, raise it to $250, then $500, then $1,000. The real goal is to keep going higher and higher. You’ll be amazed at how much you can accomplish when you remember why you fundraise. Follow these easy steps to raise your goal:

Step 1:
Hover over the “Welcome, (Insert Name Here).” in the top right corner and click on “Profile”.
Step 2:
Scroll down and right below the goal bar click on “Edit Your Page”.
Step 3:
Next, scroll down a bit and you should see a text box with your current goal. Erase that and write in your new goal.
Step 4:
Finally, scroll down to the very bottom and click “save changes”. You might not be able to see the changes immediately, but we promise that your new goal has been set!

Sharing Your Donor Drive

The easiest way is to copy and paste the URL and put the link in your bio on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. We know the link can long and unwieldy and, fortunately, there’s a way to shorten the URL! Follow Steps 1 and 2 on how to raise your fundraising goal by hovering over your name and clicking “Profile” in the top right corner of the page followed by clicking “Edit Your Page” under your fundraising bar.

Step 3:
Next, scroll down a bit and you should see a header that reads Page Alias. Type in whatever you want your shortened URL to be.

Finally, following step 4 on how to raise you goal scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page and click “save changes”. NOW GET OUT THERE AND SHARE THAT LINK!
