Karsyn’s Miracle Story:
“Karsyn was born at 25 weeks gestational age (15 weeks premature) on October 25, 2009 [her due date was] February 1st 2010. She weighed 2 lbs and was 13 inches long. Karsyn had all the typical characteristics of a micro preemie – insufficient lungs, bleeding and swelling of her brain, Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA), heart murmur, transparent skin, jaundice, digestive issues with her Gastrointestinal Tract, as well as her eyes were still fused together. Although the prognosis didn’t look good for our baby, we knew God had everything under control.  We were in constant prayer and had people across the world praying for Karsyn and supporting us during this unimaginable journey. Among the many supporters was Children’s Miracle Network. It was through CMN’s collaboration with Piedmont Regional and funding of the NICU’s giraffe incubators that our fragile baby, Karsyn, was given a chance of survival. She stayed 79 days in the NICU under the remarkable care of Dr. David Levine and many wonderful, loving nurses who became our family. Today, Karsyn is thriving 9-year-old and proving to be a true miracle with unbelievable testimony. She is very smart and doing well in life with no physical limitations.  There’s no doubt we wouldn’t be here today if CMN didn’t exist. We are so thankful to be a CMN family and blessed to share our story of hope for others to be inspired by.”
